Some people are not good candidates for transplantation, including alopecia areata patients or those with a medical condition that prevents surgery. In these cases, hair pieces can be the best choice. They are also a good solution if you want a very thick result that would be unachievable by surgery alone.

We have also performed many ‘transgraft’ procedures, where an easy-to-maintain hair piece is used behind a transplanted frontal forelock. This combines the natural hairline from surgery with the density of a hair piece, and is very effective for major hair loss.

Important note: although hair pieces are temporary, they can have effects on remaining hair quality, so this choice should not be undertaken lightly.
