Aluma Skin Tightening

Aluma is a revolutionary new, non-invasive treatment for wrinkles, fine lines and skin laxity.  It results in smoother, tighter, firmer and, therefore, more youthful-looking skin.

Wrinkles are the natural consequence of laughing, frowning, too much time in the sun and the slowing down of collagen production; they can make us both look and feel old.  Aluma treatments deliver energy safely and comfortably to the underlying layers of the skin, gently stimulating the production of new collagen, while protecting the outer layer.  The collagen plumps and smoothes the complexion, making it look younger.
The new and innovative technology used in the Aluma system is known as FACES (Functional Aspiration Controlled Electrothermal Stimulation). Skin is drawn gently into the tip of the hand piece and energy delivered deep into the dermis to create a mild and virtually painless warming.
A typical treatment takes about 15 minutes, after which you can return to normal activities.  A series of treatments is recommended for optimal results and the skin will continue to improve several months following treatment.

 

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

IPL works in a similar way to lasers but uses a broader range of light frequencies, which can be beneficial for patients with more problematic skin conditions. Our equipment has both technologies, so we can choose the best treatment for you. High energy light is directed at the upper layers of the skin, disrupting unwanted pigmentation, fine red veins and creating facial photo rejuvenation. It is also used for hair reduction in certain skin types.
We can treat:

• Sun damage
• Age Spots and pigmentation
• Spider veins
• Freckles
• Rosacea

A typical treatment takes about 20 minutes and requires four to six sessions.

 

Laser Hair Removal

Innovative, light-based devices have revolutionised the treatment of unwanted hair, offering gentle, effective and convenient solutions for both men and women. Compared to the alternative more traditional forms of hair removal, these devices give a cost effective treatment offering a quick payback compared to the cost and hassle of regular waxing. Westminster Clinic uses the LightSheer™ Diode Laser System this system is acknowledged as being the gold standard in hair removal. Using technology beyond that of other lasers the LightSheer™ can disable literally hundreds of hair follicles in less than a second and offers long-lasting results.

 

What is laser hair removal?

The system generates intense long-pulsed light through an actively-cooled handpiece to effectively disable unwanted hair follicles. The lasers cold handpiece is placed gently on the skin, as pulses of light are delivered from the laser they penetrate the skin, selectively damaging the roots of unwanted hairs. This process enables unwanted hair to be treated whilst maintaining a healthy, normal appearance of the surrounding tissue. LightSheer™ can remove hair from all parts of the body including the cheeks, legs, arms, underarms, and back as well as sensitive areas such as the nose (external only), chest, nipples and bikini line. As hair grows in cycles and the hairs that are in an active growth phase (anagen) are the most receptive to treatment, it typically can take 4-6 treatments to achieve a satisfactory level of clearance for an area.
ND:YAG Laser for Blue veins
Deeper and larger veins, which often appear to show blue or purple through the skin, are best treated by a purpose built laser, which targets these veins accurately. The ND:YAG laser is the standard choice by medical professionals for vascular lesions on the face or body, including:

• Leg veins
• Telangectasia
• Spider naevi

The time for each treatment varies but is likely to be short and may require 2-4 sessions.
